Sylvain Guintoli, Yoshimura SERT Motul Racing team driver and winner of the 2021 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race, has signed for RST and will wear RST-branded racing suits for the 2022 seasons.
Its RST airbag suit customized with In&Motion airbag technology will be seen for the first time from Monday January 31st during the 2022 season tests in Malaysia, and the flagship racing suits will be worn in both the Suzuki MotoGP tests and the the 2022 EWC season by the French driver.
Speaking at the RST signing, Sylvain Guintoli said:
“Racing products and airbag technology have come a long way over the last few years. It’s the right time. Everything is working well at RST right now and the suits are getting better and better. When you crash at 150 mph , you need to have a suit that is going to take the abuse, take the slipping and tumbling. This is very important, not only for performance, but also for rider safety.
“I can’t wait to see the different designs, because obviously I have different hats over the course of the year. The sketches on paper look really good, so I can’t wait to see the costumes.
“I think it’s going to be really interesting to work together. I’m just happy to run and compete and play this sport that I really love.
Zoe Turner, racing department manager for RST, said:
“He is a fantastic signing for us. We are so proud that a rider of the quality of Sylvain has trusted RST with his racing suits for 2022 and we look forward to supporting him in the MotoGP and EWC season.
