Suzuki, Yamaha and Ducati: trio in the lead at the Bol d’Or



After 8 hours of racing on the Paul Ricard circuit, Yoshimura SERT Motul is still in the lead ahead of YART-Yamaha Official EWC Team and ERC Endurance-Ducati. BMRT 3D Maxxess Nevers, the fastest Superstock, is in 6th place.

Yoshimura SERT Motul has been riding alone in the lead almost from the start of the race, just under a lap ahead of the YART – Yamaha Official EWC Team. The Yamaha factory sports a special white and red livery for its 60th year of Grand Prix. Two laps behind the leader, the ERC Endurance-Ducati occupies third place.

The bonus points awarded to the 10 best teams at 8 hours of racing as well as the points awarded to the 5 best teams on the starting grid put Yoshimura SERT Motul back at the top of the provisional world ranking.

Two independent teams, VRD Igol Experiences and Moto Ain, engaged in a duel for 4th place.

The fastest Superstock, the BMRT 3D Maxxess Nevers Kawasaki, is in 6th place ahead of two other EWC favorites. EEC. FCC TSR Honda France, which lost ground after two falls by Yuki Takahashi, climbed back up to 7th place in the evening ahead of Wójcik Racing Team.

Two Superstock teams, RAC41 ChromeBurner and OG Motorsport by Sarazin, complete the Top 10.

Several incidents took place in the 7th hour of the race. Three of the top players have encountered serious problems. After being slowed down at the start by a small technical problem and then running in the top three, Webike SRC Kawasaki France Trickstar retired due to a broken valve.

The BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team, also slowed down at the start by a small technical problem before reaching the Top 5, pushed the bike back to the pit and did not come out at 11pm.

Having moved up to 6th place, Tati Team Beringer Racing lost a lot of ground on the fall of Alan Techer.

Other teams also withdrew in the first third of the race, starting with Tecmas BMW following a crash. A broken chain tensioner caused the Suzuki JMA to crash and then to remove it. An engine failure led to the abandonment of Bolliger Team Switzerland (Kawasaki) and National Motos (Honda), which reached the Bol d’Or at the top of the Superstock category. The race ended for 3ART Best of Bike due to a broken gearbox following an accident.
