RBC GranFondo Whistler on ROUVY with Michael Woods


As the indoor cycling season is in full swing, RBC GranFondo Whistler in Canada has created an online experience with the ROUVY virtual cycling platform.

Four virtual races and a virtual challenge will take place between October 30 and November 20, 2021. The objective is to introduce cycling enthusiasts from around the world to four destinations in British Columbia, Canada, via ROUVY.

The ‘RBC GranFondo Whistler x ROUVY’ will take place over four new virtual courses. These were recorded in HD video, taking into account road sections of the Sea to Sky Highway from RBC GranFondo Whistler.

  • RBC GranFondo Whistler | Stanley Park | Race 1 – October 30
  • RBC GranFondo Whistler | Howe Sound | Race 2 – November 6 (CET).
  • RBC GranFondo Whistler | Sea in the sky | Race 3 – November 13
  • RBC GranFondo Whistler | Whistler | Race 4 – November 20

Canadian professional cyclist Michael Woods, who rides for the UCI WorldTeam Israel Start-Up Nation, will participate in the RBC GranFondo Whistler x ROUVY series as an ambassador for the event. He will participate in Race 1 – Stanley Park (2 laps) on October 30, 2021.

Woods will also provide regular video updates on the event and the results on social media via @rbcgranfondo on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram)

To celebrate the RBC GranFondo Whistler x ROUVY virtual series, participants will be able to join a challenge that will last between October 30 and November 20, 2021. The challenge will be to complete all four RBC GranFondo Whistler ROUVY courses (Stanley Park, Howe Sound, Sea to Sky and Whistler) between these dates.

The routes range from 8km to 23km. They can be ridden via an indoor trainer whether it is smart or not.

Participants who complete the challenge will receive: a digital finisher badge; enter a draw to win a fully paid travel, accommodation and events package as part of the 2022 RBC GranFondo Whistler; plus the possibility of unlocking the official jersey of the event at ROUVY.
