The Red Bull Rampage in Virgin, Utah is back. Well, it’s almost back. The runners are on the course this week digging their lines and preparing for the intense competition this coming weekend.

Red Bull has just uploaded a few videos to its YouTube channel showing the riders on the course (s) during practice. If you are not familiar with Red Bull Rampage you are going to experience something special here and if you are already familiar with the event you know it is one of the most intense events on the planet .

In fact, I was fortunate enough to attend Red Bull Rampage 2019 in October 2019, just a few months before the world stopped for a while. And I consider this event to be one of the last fun things I did before the last year and a half of monotony.

The real Rampage competition will take place next weekend, but the competitors are on the mountain all week. Each competitor is entitled to two team members, each man gets a shovel, and they have to build the rider line from scratch. Each year the course shifts a bit over the mesa in Virgin, Utah to keep the runner’s lines and the overall course as cool as possible. Here they get a first look at the course ahead of brutal weather later this week:

So that’s what runners on the mountain are doing right now. It’s really crazy to go there and see in person the production unit that they have set up to film and broadcast this event to all corners of the planet because it is such a harsh desert terrain. The sand penetrates everywhere. Still, they are able to broadcast this event in 4K and capture footage from top to bottom of the mountain.
