FOR beer lovers, Christmas arrives a month earlier this weekend as the Mid Wales Beer Festival kicks off.
The 10-day event begins on Friday, November 19, with real ales, ciders and perries served at all local hotels and pubs and live music on the weekends. The festival includes the very popular Real Ale Wobble and Real Ale Ramble.
The Real Ale Wobble takes place this Saturday, November 20, a non-competitive mountain biking event with real ale at the pit stops. The wobble is always very well supported and helps raise funds for the local school, Ysgol Dolafon. The entrance is now closed, but you can find more information at www.green-events.co.uk. Spectators are welcome; watch them all leave Bromsgrove Hall together at 10 a.m.
For more information, contact Kate by email at [email protected] or by phone on 01591 610326 (day) or 01591 610664 (evening).
Walkers are welcome to the Real Ale Ramble weekend walking event on Saturday and Sunday November 27-28. 8 or 5 km guided walks with supplies on the way back.
Entrance costs £ 11 per day / £ 18 for both days (or £ 6 for guided walks). Leave the square anytime from 8:30 am (later for guided walks) after check-in and briefing at the Neuadd Arms Hotel.
