Exile MOTOGP Xavi Forés must quit FHO Racing with immediate effect, which means the Spanish rider will not compete in the remaining rounds at Oulton, Donington or Brands Hatch.
Forés has been a busy rider in 2021, competing in the British Superbikes for FHO Racing and also in the FIM World Endurance Championship for the BMW works team. Forés’ decision to only compete in the EWC was taken before last weekend’s Bol D’or.
This race did not go quite as planned for the Spanish rider after injuring his back and shoulder in a test crash before the event.
The news will be a blow to BSB, as despite Forés’ poor performance in most heats, the extra attention the series has received from having a former MotoGP and WorldSBK rider in the paddock – albeit mostly out of the paddock. competition – would have been notable.
Speaking of the news, Forés said:
“I would like to thank Faye Ho and the entire FHO Racing BMW team for the opportunity to ride with them this season. It was a great experience and despite a bit of bad luck with some injuries at the start of the year, I was have always felt at home.
“Now, after my incident at the EWC race weekend, I have to recover and try to be in good shape for the season finale in Most in a few weeks. I wish the FHO Racing BMW team all the best and send them all my support for the showdown and into the future.
