Blue Knob welcomes ‘Merry on the Mountain’ | New


The Blue Knob All Seasons Resort in Claysburg is gearing up for the winter season with several free and family-friendly events this weekend. Saturday, December 4, is the resort’s fourth annual “Merry on the Mountain” vacation kick-off and tree lighting from 4 pm to 8 pm at the Blue Knob Conference Center. Admission is free and the event will feature holiday music, soup, hot chocolate and activities for the kids.

Santa is coming to the event and children 12 and under can register to be the one to light the Christmas tree at 7 p.m. 16 years and over. The resort will also collect donations to benefit two local dog rescue organizations: Abby’s Angels Animal Rescue and A Darrah Bull Bully Rescue. Items requested include plush dog blankets, dog sweaters, creamy peanut butter (no xylitol sweetener), all kids dog treats or toys, bully bones, sanitizer wipes, paper towels, detergent to laundry and towels for puppy.

The Blue Knob All Seasons Resort is adjacent to the Blue Knob State Park. It is located on the highest ski mountain in Pennsylvania and operates in cooperation with DCNR.

Blue Knob offers year-round recreational activities including skiing, snowboarding, tubing, golf, and a network of trails for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, mountain biking, hiking and running walk.
