The Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) today announced the launch of ticket sales for the first-ever double-title FIA ​​World Endurance Championship (WEC) in the Kingdom, which will take place in October and November. in Sakhir.

Tickets went on sale today, with fans able to experience the spirit of Le Mans with the best of global endurance racing, along with support races and entertainment to keep fans of all ages enthralled for both race weekends.

The last two rounds of the 2021 WEC season at the “Home of Motorsport in the Middle East”, will start with the Bapco 6 Hours of Bahrain on October 29 and 30, and will be followed next weekend by the Bapco 8 Hours of Bahrain on November 5 and 6. The different race times will result in two varied shows, as the six-hour event will take place entirely in daylight while the eight-hour race will start during the day and end at night, offering contrasting challenges. for pilots and teams. A total of 32 cars are expected, in addition to the support races.

Ticket prices for each race weekend provide one of the most affordable ways to attend a motorsport world championship event. The ticket costs only 5 BD for adults (8 BD for both events) and 2.5 BD for children aged 3 to 12 (BD4 for both events). The spectator entry policy for the race will be in accordance with the Covid-19 traffic light system in force in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Under the current green conditions, entry is allowed to all. The 2021 WEC season has so far been nothing short of spectacular, especially with the introduction of the all-new premium Hypercar, which will debut in Bahrain. While this season’s championship standings are still pending, all racing categories will crown their champions in Bahrain:

  • In Hypercars, only nine points currently separate the leading teams in the Toyota Gazoo Racing category.
  • LMP2 will see the tightest battle of all with just 23 points separating the top five crews.
  • LMGTE Pro only sees 15 points separating Ferrari, which leads the category, and Porsche currently second.
  • LMGTE Am sees AF Corse’s # 83 Ferrari 488 GTE Evo dominant at the top of the standings with a total of 102 points and with a comfortable lead over TF Sport in second position with 65.5 points. However, with 14 cars in this competitive class, anything could happen.
