As the colors of fall begin to emerge, the township urges residents, visitors to plan a road trip and explore the area by bicycle, motorbike or car.

Sweaters time is almost here and fall is the perfect time to explore beautiful Oro-Medonte. Gorgeous reds, oranges and yellows invigorate the landscape with incredible color, and our welcoming community offers special fall-themed events and activities.
Explore Oro-Medonte by bike, motorbike or car and plan an autumn road trip with fun stops along the way. Browse local art, sample local cuisine, ride a bike, and fill your lungs with fresh air. Take a day or a weekend of a self-guided tour and admire the spectacular fall colors of Oro-Medonte. Adventure calls!
Self-guided bike tour
Did you know that the gentle rolling hills and scenic paved roads of Oro-Medonte are a favorite with avid cyclists? Fall is a great time to explore the area by bike as the summer heat has dissipated and local businesses welcome visitors.
Stop at one of Oro-Medonte’s many farm stalls and pick up some fresh local produce, and refuel with a meal at a local restaurant. Enjoy a delicious meal in one of these restaurants; Crazy Horse Sports Bar & Grill at the Horseshoe Resort, indulge yourself at the upscale Ktchn located at the Braestone Club, enjoy renowned gourmet pizzas at Da Vinci’s Gate, visit the Loobies at Craighurst for delicious take out or sample gourmet pizzas with flatbread and much more at HQ Restaurant and tap house. Visit Cycle Simcoe for great road cycling suggestions, including the Bass Lake Beauty or Hills of Oro-Medonte routes or the Lake Country Rail Trail.
Mountain biking adventures
Satisfy your need for speed as you trek through the canopy and explore cross-country ski trails in Oro-Medonte’s two fantastic mountain bike parks. Whether you are a beginner to bike or an elite athlete, we have trails for all levels and abilities.
The Horseshoe Bike Park is ideal for all levels of riders. All trails are accessible from their 6-person high-speed chairlift. Twelve cycle paths are available, offering a diverse mix of trails and terrain, including berms and bridges. Horseshoe Bike Park offers bike rentals and freeride and technical trails for beginners to experts.
Hardwood Ski and Bike offers mountain biking experiences for anyone aged 4 to 70. With over 80 kilometers of beautiful rolling trails winding through hardwood and pine forests, Hardwood’s trails intertwine with the network of ski trails, creating endless course and obstacle possibilities. Explore Oro-Medonte by motorbike
Visit our beautiful township and travel at your own pace, from the comfort of your motorcycle. Explore the fabulous open roads of Oro-Medonte while enjoying the peaceful landscapes of forest and farmland, then stop for lunch and shopping along the way.
Consider heading to Quayle’s, motorcycle-friendly brewery, for a weekend lunch and sample their seasonal menu. There is plenty of parking here and a large outdoor dining area. Browse gifts and other locally made items at Dwellings in Craighurst, and stop at Heritage Estates Winery and Cidery to sample locally made wine and cider. Always drink responsibly!
Trekking in the trees and mini-golf
Swing from the treetops at Treetop Trekking, an exciting zipline and aerial play park located at Horseshoe Resort. Plan a fun day adventure in the spectacular Copeland Forest. This park offers climbing and zipline activities for ages 5 and up.
Challenge the family to a round of mini golf at the Horseshoe Resort. An 18-hole outdoor mini-golf course offers fun for golfers (and amateurs) of all ages. Mini golf and tree climbing could be done in the same day! Discover the activities at the edge of the slopes.
Fall Farm Festival, Images Thanksgiving Studio Tour & Fall In Love with Maple Weekend
Mark your calendars and don’t miss some exciting events that will take place in Oro-Medonte this fall.
The Fall in Love with Maple event runs until October 3, 2021, inviting members of the public to take a fall road trip and sample maple syrup and maple treats. Visit participating sugar bushes such as Hutchinson Maple Syrup, Steamy Kettle Sugar Bush, and Poppa’s Sugar Shack to learn more about maple syrup production and walk through beautiful fall scenery.
On Thanksgiving weekend, meet talented local artists on the Images Thanksgiving Studio Tour. Over 30 exceptional artists and artisans will exhibit their works over the course of four days in 18 different studios, including some right here in Oro-Medonte.
Meet painters, potters, sculptors, photographers, woodturners, jewelers, and various mixed media artists on your self-guided workshop tour. Browse the current artist lineup and view an interactive business card to start planning your route. Include a stop at the Oro-Medonte Farmer’s Market on Saturday Thanksgiving weekend, to visit local vendors and shop for local produce.
Last but not least, we all have an inner child within us. Bring the family into the spirit of fall by visiting the Chappell Farm Fall Festival. Choose your own pumpkin, visit adorable farm animals, explore a corn maze and more. The Chappell Farm Fall Festival is running until October 31. Book online before your visit.
