The Race Course: Alum Creek! da Creek' hosts race number 6 of the 2010 OMBC series. COMBO develops and maintains what is arguably  the most visited trail in the Buckeye state! The laps come thick and fast at the Creek. A tight twisting rooted back breaker of a trail with many creek crossings and bridges. Although its flat, don't expect any easy ride in the 'burbs of the Bus. Flat means there's nowhere to hide and nowhere to recover.

Course direction: The race course will run clockwise only on the newly added section between Alum Creek dam and the trail head but will run counter clockwise, the normal route, for the main trail.

Sunday, July 25
10:00 a.m. – Registration opens
11:00 a.m. – Novice and Sport race
1:00 p.m. – Expert race Starts at 1:00 PM or at the finish of the Novice and Sport races
1:10 p.m. –Kids Race (12 and Under)

Map Guide: The OMBC Series race will stage at the south end of the beach parking lot. Red marks the start and finish line. White represents the out and back portion of the race course and the portion of the race course that is on top of the Dam. The blue trail is the single-track area where laps will be completed before the return across the dam, back through the nature preserve and on to the finish line at the Beach.

Kid's Race: 12 and under only. Free Entry! $5 donation is appreciated but not required. Parents are required to sign a release wavier. Although awards are offered to the top three finishers, this race is held to inspire kids to ride their bikes and introduce them to mountain bike racing. All finishers will receive an Official OMBC finishers medal.

Parents Info: The Kids race will group kids by age as follows: 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, and 11-12 years of age. Ages 5-8 will follow a short course, mostly flat and visible to parents, through the wide nature preserve trail. There is one small climb. Ages 9-12 will follow  a longer loop that is approximately twice the length of the short course. Snell approved Helmets are required. Please check that brakes are in good working condition.  

Parents are welcome to ride along with their kids provided they do not interfere with the race. There will be a lead rider to guide kids and a sweep rider to make sure all make it back to the finish line. Awards for top three finisher's will follow the kids race and official results will be posted online, here, following the race.

Remember Kids: If you don't finish, you receive nothing.  

Course:

Novice Race – Out to single track, one lap on single track and back to start/finish line. Approx 10 miles.
Sport Race – Out to single track, 2 laps on single track and back to start/finish line. Approx 16 miles.
Expert Race – Out to single track, 3 laps on single track and back to start/finish line. Approx 22 miles.
Kids Race – Short loop through the mostly flat nature trails to start/finish line. Approx 1 mile.

Directions from I-71 (heading North):
Exit Polaris Parkway. Go right (east) on to Polaris Pky approx. ½ mile. Turn left on to Worthington Rd, just past Germain Amphitheater. Turn left on to Africa Rd (second light). Continue to the 4-way stop, and turn left onto Lewis Center Rd. **

Directions from I-71 (heading South):
Exit Rt. 36/37. Go left (west) approx. 1 mile. Turn left (south) onto Africa Rd, just past the RV dealer. Continue approx. 6 miles to the 4-way stop, and turn right onto Lewis Center Rd. **

Then:
**Follow Lewis Center for about 2 miles to the Alum Creek State park beach area.
(Right turn in to beach parking area) Staging area will be at the far right or south end of the beach.

Classes: All OMBC race divisions .

Fees: $30, card carrying OMBA members 25.00, Novice Junior High (JH) and High School (HS) $10, Kids 12 and under race FREE. 

Camping on site: There's many camp sites in the park. Visit Alum Creek State Parks website for more info.

Motel: Check out the Delaware County Visitors Bureau for information and other attractions near the park.
