Located in the deep, dark recesses of AEP Recreation lands, OMBC Series Race #2 takes its name from what has become known as the "Ohio Grassman". For those who claim to have seen the creature, this area in particular, holds a unique history. See: http://www.bigfootencounters.com/creatures/grassman.htm 2008 OMBC Men's Expert Champion and AOA member, Ben Ortt, has been training there for years? Coincidence? The Course: The Grassman course is a 6.5 mile loop that includes a short out and back from the race start/finish area. The race begins on a gravel road for 0.3 miles, merging onto single track for 0.4miles, along with 1.5 miles of grassy double track. The remaining miles are single track. Difficulty levels range from easy to difficult so be alert and don't look back every time you hear the weeds cracklin' behind you. Its probably nothing. Put yer head down n crank! More importantly, there are 2 short rock sections and a few multi root sections so always look ahead. Our advice? Don't become last and all alone! If you survive, Sierra Nevada Brewing will be there to help calm your nerves and your cotton mouth. Turn left onto OH 83 heading south for approximately 5.8 miles. Turn left onto twp. Rd. 280 for 2 miles staying right at the road split. Turn right onto twp. Rd. 141 for 0.1 miles and you will see registration on the left. Park along roadside both sides of the twp. Rd. From the Columbus Area: East I 70 to Ext #169 onto OH 83 north. Follow OH 83 north for 18 miles. Turn right onto twp. Rd. 280 for 2 miles staying right at the road split. Turn right onto twp. Rd. 141 for 0.1 miles and you will see registration on the left.
